Fruit of the spirit:
♥️Love ♥️
1st Corinthians:13
There are different forms of love:
• Lust
• Like
• Love
LOVE:
Love for parents —> obey, honor, care
Love for Children—> teach, lead
Love for marriage —> devote, one flesh
Love for parents: Ephesians 6: 1,2
We show love towards our parents by honoring them and obeying them.
John accepts to take care of Jesus’s mother when he was at the cross.
We are able to show love and care towards our own parents. But will we be able to show the same love towards other’s parents?
Love for children:
We show our love towards our children by praying for them, and by taking care of them.
Love for marriage: Ephesians 5:25
Just as Jesus loved the church, husbands should love their wives. In a marriage, a person should be devoted to their spouse because they are no longer two but one flesh.
How is it possible to really show all these kinds of love?
Only if God’s love is within us we will be able to show others the love.
Having said this, our time with children or spouses shouldn’t compromise our time with God.
Matthew 10:37 says “He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.”
Bible says God is love. It doesn’t say He merely loves us. It says that He is in love. God is love personified.
His love is supernatural. It is deep, wide, and high in all directions. His love is sacrificial love.♥️
